During Brian
Weidner’s career with the FBI he focused on field operations against
terrorist and intelligence threats presented by Middle Eastern Countries
Designated as State Sponsors of Terrorism. This expertise was honed during
involvement in many of the more notable terrorism investigations during this
time. This includes deployment to Kenya immediately after the 1998 bombings,
involvement in the investigation of the attacks on the World Trade Center
and Pentagon in 2001, the Bombing of Pan Am Flight 103, and both covert and
overt international deployment to debrief defectors or cooperators, and
leading investigations against US Persons cooperating with these governments
with subsequent successful prosecutions.
After the attacks of 9/11/01 significant investigative
questions arose regarding the countries of the Arabian Peninsula, from where
most of the hijackers originated. Mr. Weidner was selected to initiate an
investigative squad at FBI's Washington Field Office (WFO) to focus on the
Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence, and related Criminal matters relating
to countries on the Arabian Peninsula.
Mr. Weidner was a Captain in the US Army serving tours
in the US and in the Federal Republic of Germany in a Tank Battalion. Prior
to attending college Mr. Weidner served as an Ordinary Seaman in the US
Merchant Marine.
Mr. Weidner graduated magna cum laude from
John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York with a
Bachelors’ Degree in Criminal Justice and holds a Masters degree from
Virginia Commonwealth University in Administration of Justice. |
