Robert
D. Booth
Robert Booth served a nearly
30-year career as a professional security and counterintelligence officer,
rising to senior positions at the US Department of State. He is a proven
manager in both domestic and foreign environments with special expertise in
areas of personnel safety, building security and criminal investigations.
Booth's last assignment at the
State Department was as the Deputy Director of Counterintelligence where he
was the recipient of three US Department of State Superior Honor awards, a
Department of Energy Meritorious Service Award, and a National Intelligence
Meritorious Unit Citation from the Director of Central Intelligence.
In Washington, DC, Booth was
also the Chief of the Office of Professional Responsibility where he managed
over 300 investigations, and the Chief of Overseas Training Programs where
he strengthened and enhanced training for professional security officers. He
also served as a Special Agent in the Office of Protection for the Secretary
of State and in the Washington Field Office.
Booth served as a Regional
Security Officer at many overseas posts including the US Embassy in Paris,
France; Port-au-Prince, Haiti; Tokyo, Japan; Geneva, Switzerland; and
Beijing, China. In Paris, he designed the first-ever foreign language
security awareness briefing for 1,200 local employees and acted as liaison
for 175 US and French security officials during the 50th anniversary of the
Victory in Europe celebrations.
Booth has a Political Science
degree from the University of Tennessee with additional graduate work in
Public Administration. He completed the Training Specialist Certification
Program at Georgetown University as well as the Certified Criminal
Investigations Supervisor Program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training
Center (FLETC). He is fluent in French.
