Henley-Putnam University Hosts Strategic Security Webinar entitled, ‘Beyond Bin Laden: Implications for Strategic Security and Counterterrorism'

During Free Webinar, Dean of Terrorism & Counterterrorism Studies will discuss the future of Counterterrorism

San Jose, California (PRWEB) May 19, 2011

Henley-Putnam University's next free webinar, Thursday, May 26th, 2011 at 1:00pm EDT, takes a look at the future of counterterrorism, discussing emerging trends that will be integral to the next generation of the Global War on Terrorism (https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/502476675).

For more than twenty years, Usama bin Laden tried to intimidate and frighten the world into embracing selfishness, fear, and rage. While Bin Laden's death is an important step in ridding the world of terrorism, there is still much work to be done. As professionals in the field of terrorism and counterterrorism, intelligence and intelligence management, the faculty of Henley-Putnam University have unique insight behind the scenes.

This webinar will be presented by Amanda Morrow-Jensen, Henley-Putnam University's Dean of Terrorism and Counterterrorism Studies. She will focus on a three-part approach to assessing the future in terms of:

  • implications of bin Laden's death for al-Qaeda's survival,
  • implications for Pakistan and its leadership,
  • implications for focus on state-sponsored terrorism.
"As counterterrorism continues to evolve into its own form of warfare, it is vital that we equip our students to move fluidly through both analytical processes and operational roles,” stated Morrow-Jensen. "Where the consequences are existential, the learning curve is especially steep. By preparing students for this unique and ever-changing world, we enable them to contribute with greater creativity, speed, and flexibility to the practice of counterterrorism and the effectiveness of the intelligence community as a whole”.

Henley-Putnam University remains committed to training the next generation of counterterrorist, intelligence, and security leaders. Our mission is only just beginning. We will continue to train students to succeed and contribute to the strategic security profession with our unique focus on deterrence and prevention.

"The field of terrorism and counterterrorism studies is dynamic and ever changing,” said Theresa Marcroft, Interim CMO of Henley-Putnam University. "Our faculty is uniquely equipped to teach the next generation of techniques and strategies, emerging trends in the fields of terrorism and counterterrorism.”

"Beyond Bin Laden: Implications for Strategic Security and Counterterrorism” will take place on May 26th, 2011 at 1:00 PM, EDT.
