Operational Games:
The Espionage Wars
This
groundbreaking course chronologically examines significant cases of
Russian intelligence officers who spied for the United States and
American intelligence officers who spied for Russia since 1950 and how
their cases affected one another.
This unprecedented course “connects
the dots” of the past 50 years of counterintelligence:
-
The recruitment
of agents
-
Officers who volunteered to spy
-
The sophisticated use of
‘operational games’ or deception operations to protect spies
-
The arrest and sometimes
execution of these spies.
Both sides fought hard and had an equal share
of successes and failures. For the first time, you will be able to see a
chronological birds-eye view of the espionage battles, what went right,
what went wrong and why identifying what went wrong is far more
complicated than most realize.
NOTE: This is an intensive, advanced course and
it is recommended that students have some familiarity with the important
espionage cases of these two countries over the past 50 years. [3 days]
Feedback
“Simply phenomenal!”
“Absolutely outstanding. I wish I could grab every
American CI investigator by the neck and yank them into this
course.”
“Fascinating material in usual Dave Major fashion. Better
than going to a good movie—for edutainment value. If you can
sit through CI Centre presentations and not get excited
about your work, than you’re in the wrong business!”
“You are really in your element.”
“The course gave me an understanding of just how
intricate operational games are.”

person I worked with. An absolutely breathtaking

officers.”

learned many new things and can’t wait to learn more.”
“Extremely interesting. Having spent 10 years teaching
counterintelligence investigations and tactical/strategic
collection operations for the US Government, this
information cemented how relevant CI training is. I was
involved in a couple of cases but this highlights a bigger
picture.”
“Professionally, the most enjoyable and enlightening
course. This big picture tie-in was well presented. The
details provided me a deeper understanding and appreciation
of the defectors, spies and double agents that affected the
US Intelligence Community over the last few decades.
Extremely fascinating.”
"Excellent presentation. Although complicated and
involved, it opened my eyes to the complexity and subtlety
employed in deception operations."

during the Cold War and how the KGB used denial and
deception to protect their assets in the West."

professionals."

complete and comprehensive brief on this subject. The
presentation tied together disparate facts and introduced
new vignettes not widely known."

over several decades!! Dave continues to impress."
