Elicitation Techniques and the Recruitment Process from the Intelligence and Counterintelligence Perspective

 

Elicitation and recruitment are core capabilities and practices of intelligence, counterintelligence and security professionals throughout the world of intelligence collection. Examined from either an offensive or defense basis, both are interrelated disciples that must be understood in order to successfully mount human collection operations or defend against them.

 

This course will explore how and why the elicitation discipline works and who it is directly related to in the five-stage recruitment cycle. Understanding the basics of the techniques is essential to recognize when elicitation is being implemented against an individual. This course will examine the basics of the recruitment cycle/process from both the intelligence and counterintelligence perspectives and illustrate the process with dramatic, real world examples.
